About Us

News Unlocked is a digital news publication owned and managed by Bachelor of Arts in Communication students at the University of the Philippines Baguio. It delivers reliable news and compelling stories from its student writers and contributors all over Luzon despite restrictions and challenges posed by the new normal.

 

News Unlocked publishes news issues with various themes every Monday. It covers health, education, environment, court, and police beats. It also offers opinion and editorial pieces that put issues into perspectives, as well as feature stories that give descriptions, details, and faces to the issues that matter.

 

News Unlocked operates on Facebook, Twitter, and on this website to reach and quench the information thirst of the readers that now mostly rely on these digital platforms. The company provides news updates and stories to the readers without the need to pay any subscription fees. 

    

    It was founded in November 2020 as a requirement for the Journalism 110: Publications Management course in the College of Arts and Communication.
